USID Foundation (Formerly USID Foundation) is a community of Human Computer Interaction & Design professionals & enthusiasts formed in May, 2006 with an objective to serve students, researchers, professionals, specialists, and others in the academia and industry who has a keen interest in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability Engineering, Interaction Design, User Experience Research, Technical Communication, Project and Product Management. Today, this community has grown to 250+ members.

Since May 2006, USID Foundation has successfully organized  India's first 3 days Conference in HCI Domain "USID2007", which was attended by 150+ participants representing 40+ organizations from various cities of India. UI Design competition for students of design and technology, Call for papers and photo competition was also organized was part of the USID2007 Conference. USID Foundation also organized 12 workshops / seminars with an average participation of 40 enthusiasts per sessions since its existence. The members are from varied professional backgrounds and industries like IT & ITES, Telecom, Research, Media, Education, Consulting, etc. The complete list of participating companies is enclosed.

Based on the response received from participants, speakers and sponsors, it was decided to continue USID Conference as an annual event and organize the same in various cities of India. Last year conference USID2008 was organized from 4 th to 6 th September 2008 at Hotel Leela Kempenski in Bangalore. USID2008 conference theme was "Design Innovation & User Experience, transforming Businesses in the New Economy". The Conference was targeted towards the HCI, Usability, Design, Technology, Quality, Digital Media, Gaming & Entertainment, Technical communication, Localization, Product Management, Business and Research community and professionals and is expected to be attended by 200+ participants representing all across the IT and design industry.
