Professor M P Ranjan is a senior member of the faculty
of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad
, India and Chair of the Task Force on GeoVisualization
set up by the Government of India. Since 1976 he has
been responsible for the creation and conduct of numerous
courses at NID, dealing with design theory and methodology,
product and numerous domains of digital design. He has
conducted research in many areas of design pedagogy,
industrial and craft design and on the role of design
policy in various sectors of the Indian economy. Ranjan
continually explores cultural, ethical, technological,
and social issues that pose intellectual challenges
for the design community. As a professional designer
and Chairman of NID's Design Consulting Office he has
handled many design projects for industry, government
and international agencies in areas of product design,
interior design, exhibition design, craft design and
design policy. He headed NID's Publications and Resource
Centre, and managed Information Technology initiatives
in his capacity as Chairman of the Computer Centre and
Head of the Apple Academy at NID.

KENTARO TOYAMA

Kentaro Toyama is assistant managing director of Microsoft
Research India, in Bangalore, where he supports the
daily operation and overall management of the lab. He
additionally heads an interdisciplinary group that conducts
research to identify applications of computing technology
to international development and is currently also the
acting manager for the digital geographics research
group. From 1997 to 2004, he was at Microsoft
Research in Redmond , where he did research in computer
vision and multimedia. In 2002, he took personal leave
from Microsoft to teach mathematics at Ashesi University
, a private liberal arts college in Ghana . He has consulted
for ABB and DLR, the research arm of the German Aeronautics
and Space Administration. Kentaro graduated from Harvard
with a bachelors degree in physics and from Yale with
a PhD in computer science.

Dr. Orville Leverne Clubb is an Associate Professor
in the Computer Science Department of the City University
of Hong Kong. His research interests are in HCI. He
has recently concentrated on the Internet and its effects
on society. Dr. Clubb started his computing career in
1966, at the Bank of America. His first full-time academic
post was Senior Lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic
in 1977. Dr. Clubb has extensive experience as an academic
administrator. For example: he has been the Dean of
Engineering and Technology at the Asian University in
Thailand; Head of the Division of Computer Studies at
City University; and Associate Principal of the College
of High Vocational Studies (now City University's Community
College). Dr. Clubb has a B.A. in Psychology from the
University of Hawaii; a Diploma in Chinese Law from
the University of East Asia (Macau); a PhD in Computing
from the University of Sunderland U.K.

LALITESH KATRAGADDA

Lalitesh works in Google engineering and his interests are in geo data, machine vision and machine learning. Before joining Google,
Lalitesh briefly served on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon and went on to found a robotics start-up which was acquired by Google. Lalitesh has presented papers for and chaired several conferences in Space Robotics, and is responsible for initiating and leading the CMU Lunar Rover program. At Google, Lalitesh co-founded Google India and was its founding Joint Center Head for two years. He co-started several projects including Google Finance, Hindi Transliteration and is currently working on maps.
Lalitesh recieved his Ph.D. from CMU in Robotics and a M.S. from the CMU school of Computer Science. He also holds a M.S. from Stanford University's Design Division, and a M.S in Aerospace from Iowa State. His B-Tech was from IIT-Bombay in Aeronautical Engg. |

Ravi Krishnan
currently heads the Performance through Learning of Trina,
a learning services provider operating out of Hyderabad
and Minnesota, USA. He brings the experience of synthesizing
the practices of Instruction Design, Visual Communication,
Technology Design, and Product Design to develop effective
and engaging elearning solutions by institutionalising
the 'Learning Design' practice at Trina. Ravi has been
in the elearning field for almost a decade. He began his
career at the Multimedia Systems Laboratory of the National
Informatics Centre in the early 1990s, where he participated
in India's first technology initiative to enhance the
quality of public services. Between 1995 and 2001, Ravi
headed the Visual Communication group of LearningByte
International, a pioneer in the e-learning space in India.
Ravi is an architect by education with a bachelor's degree
from REC, Tiruchirapalli. His Masters degree is in Visual
