| Technology
has become the driving force of change in the modern world.
While hardware and software matured at a very fast pace,
equal adoption of these technologies however continued
to exclude individuals and communities from harnessing
the true bene.ts. The power of design to link technology
to the latent needs of users had not been fully exploited.
The result is, failure to connect people with solutions
that make a positive impact on their lives. What design
techniques and methodologies should be employed that contributes
to build an Information Society where maximum number of
people can use technology with minimum e.ort? |

USID2007 OBJECTIVES |
- Make a content rich engagement
that touches the core issues of HCI & UCD discipline.
- Offer an opportunity for HCI/UCD
community in India to contribute through papers and
presentation.
- Create an appropriate environment
for learning and knowledge sharing among the UCD professionals
and practitioners.
- Provide a platform to Design
and Engineering Students to showcase their Design
proficiency for designing products/services which
effect human life and society.
- Move beyond the city boundary
and make it a National/International level to address
domain related issues. Based on this year's response,
we plan to conduct this in other metros in India in
future.

issues related to UCD and HCI
- UI Design Competition for Design
& Engineering students

- Quiz/contest sessions on UCD/HCI
during the event
