Chapters are the "local neighborhoods" of USID Foundations. The focus of Local chapters is on local activities connecting Design, HCI, Anthropology, Product Management and technology professionals and students with each other. USID Foundation local chapters serve as nodes of activity for USID Foundation members and the UX community at large, offering Local events and activities including seminars, lectures, workshops and the opportunity to meet peers and experts in the fields of Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Anthropology, Product Management, and technology.
Only one USID Chapter can be created and oprate in one city. The USID Foundation chapters can be formed by applying to the Chapter coordinator of the USID Foundation and subject to the approval of the USID Foundation Board.
